Lifecycle Environmental Impact of Foam Lunchbox and Degradation Lunchbox
- Dec 06, 2017 -

Life cycle impact assessment is a technical process that evaluates various environmental impact factors from the inventory analysis stage and is widely used in the world. Life cycle impact assessment model is divided into the following steps: characterization, damage assessment, standardization and weighted assessment; the following simple summary to briefly summarize the life cycle environmental impact of the following two kinds of lunch boxes.

Comparing the life cycle environmental impacts of EPS lunch boxes with light / biodegradable lunch boxes can be found:

(1) Among the environmental impacts, only the environmental impact (ecotoxicity) of EPS lunch boxes is greater than that of light / biodegradable lunch boxes.

(2) The consumption of mineral resources of EPS lunchboxes is far less than that of optical / biodegradable lunchboxes, mainly due to the fact that the weight of EPS single lunchboxes is only 30% of that of optical / biodegradable lunchboxes, and the regenerated PS particles are discarded.

(3) The impact of land use on EPS meal boxes is far less than that of light / biological solution boxes, the latter being 6. This is because only 10% of EPS meal boxes enter the landfill while light / biodegradable boxes have 70% Into the landfill, and biodegradable ingredients mainly from corn and other starch, corn planting takes up a lot of land.

(4) In the aspect of atmospheric organic pollution, the influence of EPS meal box is light / biodegradable meal box 31. Through the analysis of the inventory, it is found that the airborne organic pollution mainly comes from the production of plastic particles, while the atmospheric organic pollution of PS particles The impact is about 1/3 of the same kind of PP particle production process.
